This year
Then on January 27th (or near to it), many nations marked International Holocaust Memorial Day, and the 77th anniversary of the Allied liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death-camp. At commemorations around the globe the words “Never Again!” were once more uttered. Yet in many of these same nations, Holocaust denial and distortion is on the rise; while daily verbal abuse and physical attacks on Jewish people, businesses and communal meeting places increase at truly alarming rates. These are the incidents that are reported… Many are not.
At the beginning of this February 2022, Amnesty International – a once worthy advocacy organisation that has today utterly lost its way – issued a 280-page report on so-called “apartheid Israel”. Filled with lies and distortions it essentially advocates the destruction the State of Israel. Several key nations – including the USA, UK, Australia, and Germany – strongly condemned this ‘report’ for bias against Israel. Sadly, many other countries, who claim to be Israel’s “friends”, have remained silent. Needless to say, the Palestinian Authority – along with its “allies” around the world – are rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of how they can use the contents of this appalling document to further undermine the legitimacy of the Jewish State.
Just prior to the release of Amnesty’s report, another organ of hatred toward Israel, the ‘United Nations Human Rights Commission’, announced it had established and funded a permanent – repeat, permanent – “Commission of Enquiry” into Israeli “war crimes”. There will, of course, be no investigation of Islamic terror attacks on Israel via the Gaza Strip, from Lebanon, or from Syria. Nor any enquiry into the almost daily threats of annihilation from Iran and its proxies.
Putting all of this together we begin to ask if we have all been transported back into the 1930s… or what?
