OIDAC mission – “To contribute to a Europe where Christians may fully exercise their fundamental rights to freedom of religion, conscience, expression, and association, without fear of reprisals, censorship, threats, or violence”.

THE PRESENT SITUATION

OIDAC’s recent 2021-22 report: https://www.intoleranceagainstchristians.eu/publications/top-5-report-2020-2

“In January 2023 Open Doors published its 2023 World Watch List, which is considered the best report that documents the persecution of Christians around the globe. Sadly, over the 30 years they have been reporting this global phenomenon, persecution has grown alarmingly.

Thankfully in Europe, we do not usually hear of violent and severe persecution. Still, we have received several striking cases and issues since our last newsletter, which we want to share with you today! Like in the years before, churches and public displays of Christian symbols were not spared from vandalism during the holidays… There have been several arson attacks, decapitation of statues, and graffiti. Worrying cases were the arrest of a woman in the UK for standing near an abortion facility and admitting she might have been “praying in her thoughts” to the police”.

CHRISTIAN COMMENT

We know that true Believers will always face harassment. Quite simply, our Lord Jesus told us that we will – it ‘goes with the territory’. As Christians we should not ignore this buy ALWAYS be very much in-prayer for our brothers and sisters. The apostle James reserved a very ‘damning’ indictment of so-called Christians who cannot be bothered about their brothers and sisters in Christ: James 2: 14-16.
