53 SAD YEARS

Britain has just passed 53 sad years of Abortion. A recent message from the SPUC, with minor edits:

Tragic harvest

Since 27 April 1968, nearly 9 and a half million unborn UK babies have lost their lives through abortion. So many women, men and families have been wounded. During the past year we have seen a tragic expansion of the culture of death, in the form of DIY home abortions. Women can now receive abortion pills in the post, and are left to go through the trauma alone at home.

Sad experience

This is one of many sad experiences posted on the popular site Mumsnet.

I was pregnant in September. Boyfriend didn’t want to keep the baby. I was hesitant but decided to go ahead with abortion.

With Covid, the pill was sent in the post after a phone interview… Boyfriend was working away at the time so couldn’t be there for support. I felt okay afterwards but after Christmas it has all hit me…

All I keep thinking about is how much positivity this pregnancy would have brought to my life and how excited I would be. Instead I’m on my own in my room crying about my life. What a mess it is. 27 and no job. No idea where to go next. I feel lost.

I’ve never felt so depressed. I’ve had thoughts about ending it all but I would never actually do it, just thoughts. I keep getting rejection after rejection from jobs and I want the baby back.

No to DIY abortions at home

On this tragic anniversary, can you help us tell the public about the reality of DIY abortions by delivering our door-to-door leaflet, No to DIY abortions at home? Now that small groups of people can meet outside, please consider ordering a quantity of leaflets and organising a team to deliver leaflets in your area.

The leaflets give the details of organisations which can help women who have changed their mind halfway through a medical abortion, and those who are suffering post-abortion.

Order leaflets

You can see the leaflet and place an order here.

On this anniversary, let us renew our commitment to working together for a culture of life and a society where every life is valued.
