Equalities Minister Kemi Badenoch told parliament In December that the UK government’s draft ‘conversion therapy’ bill will be published for pre-legislative scrutiny, despite it not being included in this year’s King’s Speech. This is unnecessary and unhelpful – as the government has said before, harmful practices are already illegal. However, there was a twist.

Badenoch told parliament that the main threat that should be addressed is not “conversion related to … sexuality”, but that gender reassignment surgery and puberty blockers are “a new form of conversion therapy”.

Carys Moseley explains the details for our website, pointing out that we have made this point for many years and hinting at the battle that seems to be going on behind the political scenes.

Education Secretary Gillian Keegan also spoke in Parliament this week, mentioning that the long-awaited guidance on transgenderism in schools would “hopefully” be out before Christmas. This guidance has been promised ever since Nigel and Sally Rowe challenged previous guidelines with the help of our legal team. Media coverage has suggested that the new guidance would not stop social transitioning in schools.

These two positions seem contradictory. The Times suggests that Keegan, (who was called an LGBQT+ ally by PinkNews) is in an escalating row with Badenoch.

Please pray for truth and goodness to prevail – that children would be protected from the harms of trans ideology, including social transition. And pray that Christians and others would be free to seek help to live sexually faithful lives in their God-given bodies.
